This session focuses explicitly on healthography and the importance of residential environmental and social factors on exposures, behaviors, and health. Panelists will present on intervention programs, community-engagement tools used to collect relevant community-based information and to foster social change, and innovative approaches for understanding how environmental contexts may impact key health behaviors. Presentations focus on incarcerated populations and children and youth.
Session Objectives: Explain how neighborhood social and environmental features may affect health. Describes various Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) tools that might be effective in community health intervention and research. Describe approaches to understand individuals' experiences of their built environment.
