The Education and Health Initiative: Raising Public Awareness About the Health Implications of Educational Attainment

The leaders of this initiative will review the relationship between educational attainment and public health and discuss their efforts to raise awareness about these connections among the public, policymakers, and the media. Using materials and videos produced by this project as examples, the speakers will emphasize the importance of combining research, policy outreach, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication. The session will be important to those involved in discussing social determinants with policy audiences outside of public health.
Session Objectives: Describe the relationship between educational attainment and public health and a current effort to raise awareness among the public, policymakers, and the media.
