Action on the relationship between education and health requires engaging the community. Strategies and methods for community engagement in causal modeling and findings from this process as it relates to education and health will be presented.

Demonstrate the purposes and methods for engaging community stakeholders in causal modeling. Discuss findings from the community: “real life” connections between education and health.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I specialize in community/stakeholder engagement strategies and social determinants of health. Recent projects include a community-university partnership at VCU that uses CBPR methods to gather data on local issues related to social determinants of health; a series health equity reports for Place Matters teams around the country; issue briefs and other communication materials on the relationship between education and health; and pilot projects on stakeholder engagement in causal modeling/question development for health-related research.
