Healthy People is in its fourth decade of providing a comprehensive collection of disease prevention and health promotion objectives to guide the nation to better health and well-being. This decade, as Healthy People 2020 places renewed emphasis on the social factors that influence health, it adds to its overarching goals the creation of social and physical environments that promote good health for all and establishes a specific topic area and objectives on social determinants of health. The presenters will provide an overview of Healthy People 2020 and examples of programs in different sectors aimed at improving health by addressing social determinants of health.
