Monday, November 4, 2013: 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Oral
The Association of State and Territorial Health Official's (ASTHO) National Quality Improvement (QI) Demonstration Initiative in State Public Health Programs was designed with three goals in mind: 1. Improve health impact, delivery of services, and program operations among state public health programs, using QI methodology. 2. Demonstrate the use of QI in Chronic Disease Prevention (CD), Environmental Public Health (EH), and Maternal and Child Health (MCH) programs to develop state health agency documentation to meet PHAB measures. 3. Demonstrate the value of QI to inform agency, program, resource, and accreditation decisions in times of shrinking state and federal budgets. The five selected states-AZ, CT, MD, MN, OR-will share their project results.
Session Objectives: Describe the value of using quality improvement methodology in state health agencies. Describe how quality improvement within state health agencies can be used for PHAB documentation.
