Public Health Nursing (PHN) has a long history as one of the seminal roles in nursing, but the variety of roles that PHNs have assumed over the past century result in little consensus on which interventions and roles are enhanced by the combination of public health and nursing knowledge and skills.
Session Objectives: Identifies the evidence base for public health nursing (PHN) practice across a variety of interventions and populations. Discuss that health care providers must be aware of past local historical significance and environmental events which may have physical and psychological impact on individuals, families, and populations.
