System of corporate control over health-related technologies

The object is to describe and analyze the interactions of the various industries that have an impact on the health and health care of the public. A mapping of relationships among these industries shows that they constitute a highly integrated system whose primary purpose is profit for its constituent corporations. A set of subsidiary organizations supports overtly or covertly the component corporations. The health-related corporate control system is so ingrained in policy making and public acceptance that no health care reform, not the Affordable Health Care Act, not the Single Payer proposal, not even the old Dellum's bill is immune to its pervasive influence. Thus, health reform requires corporation reform, either limited to health-related corporations or applicable to all corporations above a certain size as in the Environmental and Social Responsibility Amendment to the Constitution proposed by Michael Lerner. Problems communication, education, and organization of the public that must be overcome to pave the way for such approaches will be discussed.
