Traditional Alaska native values in context: The impact of health care delivery on indigenous elders

This session will consider the intersection of Alaska Native tribal law and traditional values with the delivery of health care in modern context. The roots and nature of tribal law will be discussed as well as an overview of traditional Alaska Native ways of caring for Elders. The Snyder law and its impact on the delivery of health care to Alaska Natives will be discussed and the interpretation of federal law which led to the formation of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium.
