Human right to health

This presentation will provide an overview of the right to health. We will examine the origins of the right to health in international human rights documents as well as the linkages between health and human rights. Major international treaties such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights will be presented. The structure of the United Nations human rights bodies will also be discussed. The obligations of state and non-state actors such as non-governmental organizations and civil society actors will be presented.
