Public health performance improvement: Cutting edge strategies

The closing speaker will help participants distinguish between performance (or quality) improvement, research, and quality assurance. The presentation will emphasize the importance of the words we use and our work culture and their contribution to the results produced. Several examples will be shared of performance improvement work at the state, local, and program levels, along with descriptions of opportunities to apply improvement principles. The presentation will conclude with information about getting started, common pitfalls, challenges, and keys to successful improvement efforts.
