The speaker will discuss ADHA's development of a Tobacco Cessation program on-line for hygienists to access for gathering information to help patients quit. The program is identified as AskAdviseRefer. ADHA has a Grant which is currently in the second year of funding with room for expansion. Each state selected one individual to act as the ADHA Smoking Cessation Initiative (SCI) Liaison. For a short time, open discussion on-line was available to answer individual's inquiries. The program has been in existence for approximately two years at this time. Recently in December, a second director, took over and is redeveloping the site web site. A power point presentation will identify the layout of the web site so programs may be promoted to the dental community as well as medical community observers. This is a new and upcoming feature the American Dental Hygienist Association would like to promote to all health professionals treating smoking cessation clients.
