| This poster session focuses on the health effects of air pollutants, both in the indoor environment and in the ambient air. The focus on indoor air centers on the prevention and clean up of mold, a common pollutant. Two posters describe efforts at the state and local govenment levels to develop a framework for assessment of air toxics, including the identification of sources and communities affected, estimate the exposure and risk, and develop strategies for intervention. The collection of ozone monitoring data empowers a community to negotiate with government agencies for better public health protection. Two posters describe how to communicate air pollution risk effectively to those who need the information, and the role of household risk perception on risk reducing behavior. | |||
