This session will teach participants best practices in communicating and developing a relationship with legislators and their staff. | |||
Learning Objectives: 1. Educating participants on how to best use your organization’s communication tools to help keep your legislators/staff informed on issues important to your organization. 2. Providing participants with tips on how to set up meetings with legislators and their staff, conduct a meeting and follow-up after the meeting. 3. Providing participants with the Do’s and Don’ts of working with Legislative offices. 4. Helping participants understand the variety of methods they can use to advocate their messages to legislator and staff including the most effective communication tools (testimony, drafting legislation, press statements, position statements, letters to the editor, visits from constituents, and research information & briefings) | |||
