Public Health and Faith Community Collaboratives
Clerly there are public health issues that often go unaddressed in communities. There are many hypothesis for why commmunity members do not adhere to some of the public health recommendations. At the smae time the church or faith community, particuary in cultural/ethnic groups gravitate to and make decisions based upon their history as well as their faith. Oftimes this becomes a real challenge for pubic health. the purpose of this session is to show how public health and faith community collaboratives can begin to identify and make recommendations to close the gap.
Learning Objectives: At the end of the session, participants will be able to 1)Identify key elements necessary in effecive collaboratives 2) Discuss strategies to promote public health issues within faithbased settings 3) Define elements of effective Public Health/Faith collaboratives
