This presentation will focus on how the philanthropic goals of one foundation have launched widespread new endeavors for environmental health collaborations. It will provide overviews of four collaborative endeavors which illustrate the action and impact that such collaborations yield. These include the mission, goals, and activities of the Collaborative for Health and the Environment, Health Care Without Harm, Healthy Hospitals for the Environment, and New Voices for the Environment.

Learning Objectives:

• To provide an overview of the scientific, strategic, and health care importance for building collaborative relationships of nurses and environmental health professionals
• Describe how the philanthropic goals of one foundation have launched widespread new endeavors for environmental health collaborations
• Illustrate the mission and endeavors of three important organizational collaboratives
• Discuss buildng a collaborative infrastructure for environmental health within APHA
