This session will review the use of a new program review system for public health programs in the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services including the development of measurable program objectives. Specific examples will illustrate the application of this system in a variety of different areas in public health practice such as immunizations and HIV.

Learning Objectives:

• Session participants will be able to list the components of a program review system.
• Participants will be able to analyze organizational factors which lead to the successful implementation of performance management systems.
• Session participants will be able to describe principles of defining measurable performance objectives.
