Existing and emerging health threats facing our communities are complex and require new approaches that integrate science, systems and people. The public health workforce is faced with applying primarily discipline-specific skills and competencies to fill the skill gaps in broader, interdisciplinary areas required to effective address those complex health problems from obesity to occupational injuries. Public Health Administrators play a pivotal leadership role as integrators, and in policy development, cutting across workforce needs, science translation and system performance. This presentation will focus on those roles and strategies to prepare the Public health administration workforce for this new environment.
