Stone Around the Neck: How Health Care Costs Drag Down Union Employers

This presentation will address the legacy cost health care issue as it affects American manufacturing. The rise in cost in health care has become a significant factor in collective bargaining negotiations. Industries like steel, auto, rubber, and aluminum have hundreds of thousands of retirees who receive supplemental health care to their Medicare benefits. This is one of the increasingly important factors in the national health care debate.
