Strengthening Public Health Through Information Partnerships
Public health personnel and health sciences librarians have recently collaborated on a number of projects aimed at improving access to information for the public health work force. These partnerships are improving access to information resources and service among the public health workforce and are deepening librarians’ understanding of the information needs within public health. Papers in this session explore recent partnerships formed by individuals and organizations on both local and national levels. These partnerships strengthen public health by improving access to information.
Learning Objectives: This session will enable attendees to:
* Understand the potential contributions of public health personnel and librarians working collaboratively to improve access to information.
* Identify possible projects that build on partnerships between members of the public health workforce and librarians.
* Identify the lessons learned from previous collaborations between public health personnel and health sciences librarians.
