Abstract: This presentation is intended to provide the audience with a comprehensive overview of a Management Information System uniquely created to provide a repository of information associated with the promulgation of a national Diabetes Control Program at the CDC. This system employs a comprehensive uniform systematic method of collecting information concerning the characteristics, activities and accomplishments of programs and projects funded by the CDC that historically vary in content and detail.

Learning Objectives:

• 1. This presentation will provide information on how the system was conceived, developed and implemented. Including needs assessments, information needs identification of categories of information, screen development and navigational aids.
• 2. The audience will also understand the technical framework used and how information was used to populate fields.
• 3. This overview and demonstration provides an opportunity for the audience to view its potential use and its applications by an educator in individual settings.
