Tricia Todd, MPH, Independent Consultant, 2943 McKinley St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418, 612-789-6689, plst123@aol.com

The Turning Point’s Leadership Development National Excellence Collaborative (TPLDNEC) has available its “product package” of tools and models that can be used in leadership training programs and within state and local health departments to educate participants on Collaborative Leadership. Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2000, the TPLDNEC is a multi-state collaborative whose mission is to “increase collaborative leadership capacity across sectors and at all levels.”

This package includes reading materials, training curricula, a video series, and a self-assessment tool. In this session, the Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) of Minnesota will be highlighted. National research suggests that most leadership training opportunities are offered to those already in established leadership and management positions, not to emerging leaders. The ELN is designed to identify and nurture the leaders of tomorrow by creating a strong professional network, providing them with training in collaborative leadership, and helping them to design a life-long learning plan.
