This session will focus on health risks and health behaviors in diverse U.S. populations. Research findings and community interventions in American Indian, African-American, Korean, and Hispanic communities will be presented, with a particular emphasis on culturally appropriate chronic disease prevention and management. | |||
Learning Objectives: 1. Identify wellness factors, health risks and patterns of self-health care practices; 2. Recognize the use of both traditional and western health care interventions; and 3. Describe culturally appropriate community-based intervention programs. | |||
