Perspectives on Community Assessment
This session will describe approaches to community assessments in public health practice, including public partnership, health status measures, and a wholistic approach. Particular attention will be devoted to PHN community collaboration and research.
Learning Objectives: 1. Articulate key elements in community assessment, emphacizing public participation 2. Describe patterns of perceived health status among populations 3. Recognize community competence and capacity for change as a measure of community health 4. Recognize how clinical data can be transformed into information and knowledge for the public
