This session will provide a policy level discussion of two newly initiated programs focusing on access to health care services for uninsured and underinsured individuals and two HRSA funded studies on the current status of safety net providers in caring for low-income populations. The four presentations are: 1) a Mathematica Policy Research safety net provider study, 2) findings from the HRSA Community Access Program, 3) lessons learned from States Planning Grants for Universal Health Insurance Coverage, and 4) a study by the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health on the role of health departments in direct service delivery for low-income populations. | ||||
