Women facing violence, eating disorders & aging--policy implications

Human sex trafficking, objectification of women, forcing women to be baby factories, social media attacks on women, women's poor self-image and self-concept are decade old problems public health workers, women's rights advocates and law enforcement must face daily to combat oppressive environments. The posters in this session identifies advocacy and policy making practices across the globe to mitigate and/or reduce violence against women and girls.
Session Objectives: 1. Discuss the various acts of violence against women. 2. Describe how various acts of violence against women are oftentimes a part of structural behavior. 3. Discuss how policy improvements and advocacy can play a role in mitigating or reducing acts of violence against women and girls.
