Heart of matters: Childbirth, trauma and cardiovascular outcomes for women

The health of women and girls is affected by health policies at the local, state, and national levels. The research that is featured in the session will highlight the significant impact that health policies can have on women and girls’ equitable access to high quality mental health care, trauma care, and maternity care. A “Health in All Policies” approach to creating and implementing equitable health policies will be discussed.
Session Objectives: Describe health policy approaches for improving healthcare access for women. Discuss the impact of organizational policies and practices on the health outcomes of women and girls. Describe the factors that affect healthcare providers' perspectives about maternal healthcare.
