Preventing prescription opioid abuse in military and other settings

This session will provide an overview of prescription drug, illicit drug, and opioid drug misuse in community and military populations. In addition, the session will explore overdose fatality risks, prescriber behavior, and interventions targeting prevention and detection of drug misuse.
Session Objectives: Describe the rise in prescription drug misuse. Identify the prevalence of specific indicators of opiate misuse and overdose in the diverse settings. Evaluate the impact of multiple interventions on youth and military populations.
