This session is named after Dr. Greg Alexander, an extraordinary maternal and child health researcher and a mentor of numerous students. In this session, students disseminate findings from their independent or collaborative research projects that investigate a variety of maternal and child health issues, including: low birth weight, preterm birth and maternal health behaviors; home visiting programs for low-income mothers; maternal psychological well-being and parenting; and polyvictimization for adolescents and young parents.
Session Objectives: Describe contemporary immunization status and rates of the Nurse-Family Partnership clients
Identify maternal risk behaviors associated with low birth weight and preterm birth
Explain how subjective social status might contribute to maternal psychological well-being and parenting
„XObjective 4: Describe relationship between polyvictimization and parenting behaviors among adolescents
