Malaria is a major public health challenge and causes significant loss of human resources and places an economic burden on many countries who are ill equipped to cope with this . This session will discuss the challenges which result from malaria and other vector borne diseases and discuss strategies on how to address the health challenges these diseases pose.

Session Objectives: Define malaria epidemiology and disease burden. Discuss latest trends and innovations in reducing malaria burden. Describe programs that strengthen response to reducing malaria.
