The presentation will describe the various ways TPHA has been involved in promoting accreditation of health departments in the state of Texas.  Specifically describe the methods implemented as a result of the APHA grant.  The FY 2015 grant allowed for presentation of accreditation processes by local health departments at the AEC and also to hold an accreditation specific conference responding to needs identified by the local health departments.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have been a public health professional for 27 years, and a member of the Texas Public Health Association for XX years. I am a former president of the association. I have worked with TPHA since 2011 to promote, encourage and educate the state, regional and local health departments in Texas about voluntary national accreditation. I have been on the implementation team for the four years that TPHA has received an accreditation grant from APHA.
