I have served as the principal on many federally funded grants focusing on maternal and child health, early childhood development and education, and obtaining health insurance for hard to reach populations.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have been Director of Strong Beginnings Healthy Start since its inception in 2004 and oversaw its growth from enrolling 200 families per year to 600. An independent research project demonstrated we are reaching the highest risk women while achieving significantly better outcomes than similar women not enrolled. The interconception program we developed received NACCHOâs highest designation of Model Program. For four years I have served on the National Healthy Start Association Executive Board.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have been the Project Director for the California Border Healthy Start project since 2007 and is now a leadership and mentoring grantee for HS (HS) for other grantees along the US-Mexico border. I am also the Director for the US & Border Programs office for Project Concern International. My expertise spans across the lifecourse health perspective of families from prenatal to chronic disease prevention.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I currently serve as Project Director for Healthcare Consortium Healthy Start program with prior experience as a Healthy Start Consumer Advocate. My expertise is instilling hope, and encouraging moms and their families to engage in best practices that lower the risk of Infant Mortality and strengthens the family. As Project Director I maintain the health delivery system, education, and care coordination process for twelve Healthy Start communities within the south side of Chicago.
