Innovative Pipeline Programming into Health Careers - A Community and University Collaboration
Literature shows that there is a lack of minorities and males in health professions nationwide, and this program was designed to address this need in our local community by providing an interactive, hands-on approach to workforce development in a college setting.
This presentation will describe sHaPe camp, while highlighting the need, desirability, barriers, and challenges of six years of data from sHaPe Camp. Disseminating outcomes of pre-and post-testing provides a platform for discussion and possible replication for future development of similar pipeline programs to meet the demand of disparities in the health professions.
