Everywhere you look, someone is giving his or her opinion on the need or lack thereof for immunizing, or vaccinating children. Celebrities, medical personnel, and even your neighbor all have a passionate opinion on the topic. It can all be a bit overwhelming. So, what do you do to eliminate this confusion? You search online. This does not exactly lead to clarity. This module was created utilizing numerous resources including the Center for Disease Control, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Institute of Health, as well as information from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. What this module does is addresses the confusion and gives the people of Arkansas access to pertinent information regarding immunizations. The format for this module is much different from random text-heavy websites and lecture-based videos. The module engages the learner in an interactive, case-based activity that does not allow for passive learning, thus educating in order to eliminate the aforementioned confusion. With the use of health literacy experts, the module can reach almost any level of user, where some other information online may be a bit technical/medical for comprehension. The concentration on active learning rather than passive learning is an indicator that the education of the user is paramount.
