How to submit to a journal

This session will cover the submission and review process through to publication as well as how to draft a cover letter and how to avoid common mistakes. The lecture will give tips on how to prepare the manuscript for submission. The second half of this time period will be devoted to working with the class members and answer questions about the submission process.

Describe the submission and review process. Identify three key actions to take in preparing the manuscript for submission. Explain five factors that editors consider when making decisions about publication. Explain six possible editor decisions and the author's next steps for each decision.
