This session describes ethical, social, personal and community barriers to recruitment and community participation in different areas of genetics research, including but not limited to, biobanking, decision-making, and the incorporation of genomics into public health and clinical care. This session also discusses perspectives on future directions in guidelines, policies, and practice implications regarding genetic testing and complex diseases.
Session Objectives: Discuss existing and future ethical, social, and community challenges and how use the advances in genomics to empower communities towards better health.
