In this session presenters will discuss the relationship between mental health challenges faced by women, including transgender women, and the influence of socio-economic factors that have adverse effects on women’s health status. The link between women's mental health and human rights will also be discussed including access to services. This session will highlight psychology as being well-positioned to help in prevention and treatment.
Session Objectives: 1. Discuss mental health challenges faced by women and the link between mental health and human rights.
2. Discuss how mental health prevention and treatment can improve women’s lives.
