The purpose of this session was to explore new approaches and interventions for collegiate health initiatives. The audience will understand how one's perceived religion influences a specific health behavior. The audience will also learn about the potential benefits of incorporating food package literacy into nutrition education programs as a means of improving consumers’ nutrition knowledge, evaluations of product healthfulness, and their food purchasing and consumption patterns. Audience members within this session will also learn about the impact of using online health education to improve knowledge, attitudes, and behavioral intent of college students regarding their health and wellness.
Session Objectives: Describe opportunities for improving nutrition education curriculum through incorporating package literacy components.
Discuss the effectiveness of theater-based interventions, nutrition education curriculum and incorporating package literacy, and religious influences that change health behaviors.
