This session on health, prevention, and wellness covers a wide range of topics including: weight loss, , osteoporosis, dementia, and neuropathic pain in arthritis. We end the session with a discussion of an approach to intradepartmental team-building in achieving health goals.
Session Objectives: Compare a modern "Paleo" diet with other healthy diets in regards to its efficacy for weight loss in overweight/obese individuals.
Describe the effect of neuropathic pain on quality of life outcomes in women with arthritis.
Identify pain catastrophizing in different types of pain in women with arthritis.
Identify one way to develop an osteoporosis prevention program in the workplace.
Describe student perceptions related to an interdisciplinary approach to education on the topic of dementia.
Describe an approach to intradepartmental team-building for achieving health goals.
