Integrating public health and primary care offer the opportunity to identify adolescent risk behaviors and social factors, including chronic stressors, that contribute to poor health and academic performance. School-based health centers are strategic points of prevention and intervention.  Models and strategies will be presented.

Learning Objectives:
Explain how public health can be integrated with primary care to improve chronic stress school-wide. Discuss the role school-based health centers can play in helping students address chronic stress.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have over 30 years of experience in programming and policy related to school-based health care, adolescent health, and public health. I have framed curriculum for integrating public health and primary care and developed a model for the expansion of school-based health care to achieve population health and equity. I have publish chapters and co-edited a book on school-based health care and educational success.
