The Jeremiah Group is a New Orleans Industrial Areas Foundation group comprised of religious congregations and other institutions in the metropolitan New Orleans area, with the mission to transform the practice of politics in this City, from the neighborhood to the metro-level. The organization is multi-racial, multi-issue and currently includes member institutions that are Baptist, Catholic, Episcopalian, United Church of Christ, Church of God in Christ, United Methodist, American Methodist Episcopal and public schools.  It has been a leader of the Louisiana movement for Medicaid expansion. 

In 2015, Louisiana will elect a new governor and gubernatorial campaigns may need at address the state’s refusal to expand Medicaid under the ACA.  This presentation will outline the Jeremiah Group’s plans to continue its work to expand Medicaid in Louisiana’s upcoming election year.
