Thornton, PhD, MSW is currently a program director at the NIMHD and adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Social Work. She completed postdoctoral training at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Survey Research as a W.K. Kellogg Foundation Health Disparities and National Institute of Mental Health scholar where she focused on addressing health inequities using mixed-methods and community-based participatory research (CBPR) with interdisciplinary academic teams and community members.
