Background and Objectives:  In light of recent evidence of the occupational etiologies of breast cancer, the UAW will describe efforts to reduce exposure to carcinogens among its members.

Methods, Results and Conclusions:

Case studies will be described in which the hierarchy of controls and the participatory action research model was used in a successfully reducing exposures to carcinogens. New and accurate methods of air sampling for isocyanates and the classic methods of ventilation will be described. Methods of successful PPE interventions and small group activity training for skin protection will be described.
