Biographical Sketch: Julie Kruse MS, RN
On faculty with Lourdes College since 2005. Contributing author for HRSA Career Ladders grant project with implementation as the coordinator for mentorship and project research. Previous employment includes 10 years working with patients in a variety of settings with patients experiencing acute and chronic pulmonary and cardiac care needs. Authored and co-authored numerous presentations at national and local conferences on topics related to mentorship, student diversity, epidemiology, and international learning experiences. Conducted several community service projects in the local community and in foreign countries.
Kathy Perzynski MS, RN
Associate Professor of Nursing at Lourdes College since 1989. Previous work experiences have included home care, out-patient services, and acute care. Served in nursing administration positions with the Visiting Nurse Service and as Interim chair and Acting Dean of the Lourdes College School of Nursing. Extensive involvement in curriculum development including RN to BSN, LPN to BSN, and currently serving on the task force to design a RN to MSN graduate degree program track. Presented multiple papers at national conferences on improving nursing education enrollment diversity and associated topics. Has been successful as a co-author or lead author for numerous grant proposals with funding exceeding $3,000,000. Current interests include the issues faced by the nursing student and the impact of social support systems in facilitating academic achievement and personal wellness.
