Biographical Sketch: Martine Hackett is a special assistant professor in the MPH and community health programs at Hofstra University. Her research interests include infant mortality, health communication and health disparities. Previous work experience is as a deputy director at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Bureau of Maternal, Infant and Reproductive Health and as a television producer. She received her MPH from Hunter College and PhD in sociology from the CUNY Graduate Center.
