Biographical Sketch: Dr. Mariaelena Gonzalez is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Tobacco Control, Research, & Education at UCSF. Her research focuses on the ways in which political instruments affect health and health-policy. She is currently researching the effects of U.S. smokefree laws on individual health behaviors, health disparities, and provider behavior. She is also engaged in researching the intersection of human rights treaties and the FCTC, and the policy making implications for California.
