From Hispanic and Latino populations seeking to bridge the 'language divide' as they seek health information, to transgender communities seeking culturally competent and appropriate care, to an understanding of the distribution of America's healthcare workforce, there remains a need to empower consumers and policy makers to understand and improve population health. This session examines various IT initiatives designed to attack these problems.
Session Objectives: At the end of this session, participants should be able to:
describe how various communities can be empowered to improve their health via HIT.
