Members will obtain an understanding of the trends several chronic diseases affecting respiratory disease in the Americas. Additionally, members will have a better understanding of different factors among those diagnosed with diabetes vs. those undiagnosed and finally, the importance of a breathing test for diagnostic purposes for current smokers diagnosed with COPD.
Session Objectives: Identify the trends in mortality due to cardiovascular, cancer, diabetes mellitus and chronic respiratory diseases in the region of the Americas.
Identify factors that differentiate those diagnosed with diabetes versus those who remain undiagnosed
Demonstrate the importance of a diagnostic breathing test in current smokers with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
