The purpose of this session is to define the role of community health workers and the impact associated with interventions and service delivery.
Session Objectives: Discuss the community health worker role in outreach, research and other defined community-academic initiatives. Describe the implementation of community health worker interventions designed to improve diabetic control and management. Describe the relationship between lay-delivery of community-based strength training programs and program sustainability.
