Healthy People is in its fourth decade of providing a comprehensive collection of disease prevention and health promotion objectives to guide the nation to better health and well-being. This decade, as Healthy People 2020 places renewed emphasis on the social determinants that influence health, it expands its overarching goal to eliminate health disparities by calling for the achievement health equity. The presenters will provide an overview of Healthy People 2020, including its history, key features, and user-centered tools and resources aimed at assisting stakeholders from all sectors in putting Healthy People into practice. They will also describe how the social determinant of health are being addressed at the state and local levels.

Articulate the relationship between the Affordable Care Act and Healthy People 2020
