The role of HIIT in emergency preparedness

Incident commanders, first responders, and public health officials often struggle to get a handle on how severe a disease outbreak or disaster is in the early stages. How bad is it? How much data do we have? How much more data do we need, and are the available data reliable? Emerging technologies are achieving breakthroughs in this area, and this session will highlight the pros and cons of a few promising approaches.
Session Objectives: At the end of this session, participants should be able to: *describe how various HIT tools can facilitate data integration and decision-making during disasters such as pandemics.
